Greetings One and All! As any decent rhetorician will tell you, it is very rarely a good idea to start ANYTHING with an apology. So perhaps I should begin with a feeble explanation instead: I’m new at this Website Stuff. There. I said it.
I have a deep and abiding respect for those amongst us who grab ahold of these technologies and masterfully cobble them into relevant forms of communication.
But personally, I’d rather be playing my guitar.
My hat is off to those who embrace the constant changes in the Internet.
I have a lot of acreage in constant need of mowage.
I salute the youthfulness of anyone who resists becoming apoplectic when their screens become so utterly counterintuitive that the image of computer as lawn ornament is comical, rather than a distinct possibility.
I come dangerously close at times for the need to mow the side yard carefully to avoid covering the side of the house with Electronica Shrapnel.
And so I will beg your pardon, in advance, if this thing doesn’t work as slickly as it might.
What I’d like to do with this Website is keep those who are interested apprised of any upcoming gigs, recording projects, song lyrics, limited backstory, easy-to-follow technical stuff (musical – like what guitar tuning a song was written with). I am a serious gear head when it comes to guitars, and I might occasionally lapse into this. I will try to steer clear of angry blogging about the infuriating state of our country; there are folks better at venting than I am, and they are (too) easy to find, if you need ‘em.
To conclude this Mission Statement, I must express the deep gratitude I have to Kate, who actually does understand this computer/internet stuff and without whose help you wouldn’t be reading this right now, and Penn, who possesses far more cranial plasticity than I have ever had, and is frequently offered the chance to show his dad how to make something on the computer actually function.
We’ll try to feed this beast regularly enough to stay within reach.
Most importantly, I hope that you are enjoying/will enjoy the music that is the reason for and core of this website. Thank you for stepping on board.
